Primary Goal: Get members their first pull up, Chest to bar or Ring Muscle ups.
My First Pull up is a program focused on getting athletes of all levels to reach an important upper body pulling benchmark that matches their ability. Getting a pull up, chest to bar or ring muscle up is a big part of any crossfitters journey and in this focus cycle we’ll be focusing on strength & technique to help athletes improve quicker.
Frequency:
– 2 x Week
Goals:
– Increase athletes vertical pulling strength
– Increase athletes technical ability on kipping vertical pulling
Good for:
– Athletes who do not yet have a pull up.
– Athletes who have pull ups but want to work towards higher degree of difficulty gymnastics skills
Structure:
– One strength focused session using strict movements and accessory weightlifting
– One technical session focused on swinging techniques and positional strength for dynamic movement
Commitment:
For the best results, including both sessions in the week will help athletes stay consistent and see improved movement.
If athletes are prioritizing the pull ups, the most important session is the strength session.
Class Length:
All sessions are designed to fit within a 60-minute class and can be coached effectively in a group setting.
The workouts can be performed quicker than a 60 minute class if desired.

This program is split into 3 “levels”
– Level 1: My First Pull up
– Level 2: My First Chest to Bar
– Level 3: My First Ring Muscle ups
